GJ Parks & Rec Working on Plan to Boost Attendance

Grand Junction – Grand Junction Parks and Recreation is working on a plan to get more visitors to the city's golf courses and pools. Officials say in order to boost attendance, they want to make these activities cheaper.

Pool discounts rejected

It’s back to the drawing board for staff of the Town of St. Marys Recreation Department, as councillors — in a split vote — rejected a policy that would have allowed school user groups to swim at the Pyramid Centre and other Town-owned pools at a 42 per cent discount.

Recreation Department recommends 42 per cent pool discount for schools

In an arrangement which Recreation manager Stephanie Ische argues “allows (the Town of St. Marys) to recover some of the costs while still giving the schools a discounted rate,” a new policy was brought forward last night (Tuesday, June 28) regarding the use of Town of St. Marys swimming pools by school groups.
